WEDDING VIDEOGRAPHY, history in brief.
Wedding Videographer has been around for about 3 decades. But it really didn’t start taking off until the late 1980′s when video cameras started to become more portable and less cumbersome. Some of the earliest wedding videographers carried a Television Tube Video Camera, in addition to a VIDEO TAPE RECORDER, as the camera itself has no mechanism to record the picture. In the early 1990′s as video cameras became more compact and integrated with the video tape recorder, videotaping weddings became more prevalent. The earliest compact video cameras were not very good in low light, which meant that the videographer had to use bright lights in dimly lit reception halls and dark churches. Today, cameras are smaller, lighter and shoot in full HD.
STYLES OF WEDDING VIDEOGRAPHY
Wedding Videography comes in many different styles, depending on how it is edited. And while the terms being used today are done so very loosely, we can give you a general idea of how the term is being used and how that applies to you and your wedding video.
Cinematic Style = Cinematic style generally refers to a video that is more M.O.S. or ‘montage on sound’. Very little real time video and audio is used. Videographers often use this style to streamline editing and make the video shorter. The editing tools available today are amazing and facilitate the creation of amazing cinematic wedding videos by Videographers worldwide.
Traditional Style = Traditional style generally refers to a video that has more real time audio and video. Very little music added and little to no slow motion or other color effects used. This would be similar to the early days of videography when the editing tools available were minimal.
AXIOM VIDEOGRAPHY’S STYLE = Axiom Videography produces a hybrid cinematic/traditional feature film that includes the very best real time audio and video of your wedding, combined with amazing cinematic feature film segues, sequences and transitions. Special effects are used seamlessly through out the video to enhance the video. That said, the video is not overly stylized, as we understand that ALL STYLE goes out of style at some point. We follow this philosophy to create a timeless, cinematic feature film that you will love for decades into the future.
STEADICAM WEDDING VIDEOS
Axiom Wedding Videographer is one of the few high end videographers in San Francisco, San Jose and general Bay Area that uses the unique Steadicam [steadi-cam] camera stabilization system. In fact, we were one of the first to use this Hollywood style cinematic camera tool over 20 years ago [steadicam jr]. If you want powerful, emotional Hollywood style moving dolly shots, please check out our Steadicam Wedding Videos.
